Townhall.com, the largest conservative online opinion, news and community site is seeking an energetic, self-starter for web development and graphics work. This is a unique opportunity to help advance the center-right agenda and become more involved in the Washington, DC political community.
Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to work on websites for nationally syndicated conservative radio hosts and more.
Key Responsibilities:- Create screen layouts, navigational functions, and design features, keeping readability, audience and ease of use in mind.
- Contribute to website theme, style, and content as needed.
- Create clean HTML from site layout designs, preparing code for engineering code.
- Work closely with Editorial, Advertising, and Engineering teams to ensure designs and HTML code are consistent and up to standard.
- Balance creativity and excellent design with Download speed and efficiency to ensure a positive reader experience.
Requirements:- 1+ years of experience as a website designer minimum (or demonstratable abilities through impressive portfolio and URLs).
- Strong web design skills and artistic abilities.
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and HTML.
- Experience in Flash a big plus!
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadline.
Portfolio:- Please provide at least 4 sample web design URLs required, with project involvement details included for each (i.e. What role you played, what you worked on, what software you used, how many others in the team, etc.)
- Include any other relevant work which accurately displays your abilities.
